Kordofan refugees settle in Unity State

Over 5,000 Sudanese refugees who fled fighting in Southern Kordofan have arrived in Unity State to settle on land to be allocated for the displaced.

Clashes between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the northern Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) in June reportedly left hundreds dead and displaced at least 70,000 people. The UN is investigating allegations of war crimes in the region.
Correspondent Bonifacio Taban reports on the situation in Parieng County, where Unity State officials are preparing to allocate land for the refugees:
