People in Torit struggle to access clean water

The Eastern Equatoria State capital Torit is densely populated. Yet a proper water supply infrastructure or purification facilities are not available, leaving people with no choice, but to use unsafe water.

Most people in Torit use the water of the Kinaite, a muddy stream, to bath, to wash cars and to water life stock.

Others use the water from boreholes, but those are not maintained and therefore have a low level of hygiene as well.
