Southern Sudan has voted in January to become fully independent , while just yesterday, on 20 February 2011, neighboring Uganda has witnessed Yoweri Museveni\'s accession to a new presidential term. During his so far 25 years as head of state, Museveni was a constant supporter of the SPLM\'s struggle in Southern Sudan.

Many of the approximately 20,000 Ugandans living and working in Southern Sudan went back to their home country to cast their vote. However, some remained behind failing to go to the polls for various reasons, as Marvis Birungi reports from Juba:
