Hilde F. Johnson left Juba on July 9, after three years in office. Ellen Margrethe Løj from Denmark takes over as the new Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS).

On July 8, a day before her departure, The Niles correspondent Waakhe Simon Wudu met with Johnson for an in-depth interview, speaking about her time in South Sudan, accomplishments, challenges and the future of the country.
