More IDPs returning as aid agencies scale-up service provision

The UN mission in South Sudan says at least 20,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing in Protection of Civilian camps across the country have returned home in recent months.

According to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) the signing of the peace agreement in August 2015, the formation of the Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU) and the intensified humanitarian assistance in areas severely affected by the over two-year violent conflict, have encouraged IDPs to return home.
