Teachers in Unity State not content with salaries

Teachers in South Sudan’s Unity State are dissatisfied with their salaries. Many leave their jobs for better paid positions, increasing the shortage of teachers in the state.

Though South Sudan’s currency is improving since the oil deal with Khartoum was announced in August, several months of austerity measures have forced state and national education ministries to cut their budgets, leaving little money for teachers.
