Olony’s troops forcibly recruited up to 1,000 children
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) says it has credible evidence that Major General Johnson Olony, forcibly recruited up to 1,000 children aged 13 to 17.

The SPLA handed over two former child soldiers in Juba, March 27, 2015. The two children were captured by the SPLA in Raja County on March 16, from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-in-Opposition (SPLM-IO).
Major General Johnson Olony recently switched his allegiance from the government to Riek Machar’s rebels. Officials say the recruitment occurred in early June during house-to-house searches in villages near the Upper Nile State capital Malakal.
