Child refugees struggle as fighting continues

As fighting in Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile states continues, many people seek refuge in neighbouring South Sudan. Yida refugee camp now accommodates a large umber of unattended children.

More than 31,000 people are seeking protection and shelter at the Yida refugee camp according to the UNHCR.

The camp is located in South Sudan’s Unity State, about 40 kilometres from the disputed border between Sudan and South Sudan.
