Murtada Ahmed

Murtada Ahmed is a Sudanese freelance journalist with nearly a decade of experience. Based in Ugandan exile, he contributes to regional and international outlets – including Ayin Network – reporting on the humanitarian impacts of Sudan’s ongoing conflict. He also serves as a founding member and membership secretary of the Association of Sudanese Journalists in Uganda – a collective formed in mid‑2024 to support exiled press and maintain coverage of war‑torn Sudan. For The Niles, he covers national and regional topics related to Nile Basin affairs, focusing especially on displacement, conflict and water scarcity.
