Basaija Idd is a journalist based in western Uganda, reporting primarily on health, environment, and community development in the Rwenzori region. He is the Rwenzori Bureau Chief for the Uganda Radio Network (URN), where he coordinates news coverage and supports local correspondents. A graduate of Uganda Christian University, he is currently pursuing a master’s degree in journalism and strategic communication and is a fellow at Aga Khan University’s Graduate School of Media and Communications (class of 2025). He previously worked as a reporter, editor, and programme host at KRC 102FM in Fort Portal, and is an associate of the Umbrella for Journalists in Kasese (UJK). Basaija is a member of the Nile Basin Media Network and the Health Journalists Network–Uganda.
