Gafar Khidir

Gafar Khidir is a journalist from Gedaref, where he grew up, lived and studied. Gafar holds a Bachelor in Economics and Political Science from the University of Khartoum and obtained a Higher Diploma in Educational Sciences from the University of Gedaref. He is now working on a research Master in Education with the University of Khartoum. In addition to his work in journalism, Gafar teaches primary and secondary school students. Gafar worked as a correspondent for Ajrass Al-Hurriyah and Al-Akhbar from Gedaref. He has attended a number of training courses in media and non-media related topics both inside and outside Sudan, and he is particularly keen on corruption and human rights issues, especially in his native city. Gafar says he has been fond of reading since a very young age. He used to wait for a children magazine all week long, which he would buy through saving his daily pocket money. Gafar joined The Niles project in 2013.
