Unity State legislators want to tackle youth unemployment

South Sudan’s youth unemployment is shockingly high. Legislators in Unity State plan to introduce a new law in a bid to get more local youth employed.

The new law would require businesses, NGOs and other institutions operating in Unity State to prioritise qualified local youth for vacancies. 
Officials hope that through the new law 1,000 young people from Unity State would gain employment before the end of the year.
