Cattle raid in Unity State threatens local peace accord

A recent cattle raid in Unity State’s Mayom County, allegedly carried out by members of the Misseriya, threatens a peace deal reached in March 2012 by chiefs from the Bul-Nuer and the Misseriya communities.

The cattle raid took place late last week in Mayom County, Unity State. At least two civilians were seriously wounded and more than 350 head of cattle were stolen.
