Kala-azar kills one, over 100 infected

Doctors say over 100 people have already been diagnosed with the disease and one person died. Health officials and the World Health Organisation (WHO) are trying to stop the decease form spreading.

Definition: Kala-azarKala-azar is a chronic and potentially fatal parasitic disease of the the internal organs, particularly the liver, spleen, bone marrow and lymph nodes, due to an infection by a parasite called Leishmania donovani.
