Lisi Emmanuel Alex, commonly known as “Lokulishy” is a South Sudanese journalist based in the capital Juba. He became a reporter in 2012, when still studying at Juba University. Since then he has reported for different media houses, including the Corporate Weekly newspaper, The Stance Daily newspaper and the Daily Vision newspaper. He covers political, economic and social topics. “Reporting the truth can cost you your life in a country that does not embrace the media,” he says, adding that despite all the hardship faced by journlaists in South Sudan, he wants to be “a voice for the voiceless and hold those who misappropriate their powers accountable”.
