Fighting continues after SPLA withdrawal

BENTIU - Despite calls by the international community, demanding Sudan and South Sudan to refrain from hostilities, the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) continue to carry out air and ground attacks in Unity State.

Deputy SPLA Intelligence, Paul Mac Bol (23.04.2012/Bonifacio Taban).The Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) confirmed its total withdrawal from Heglig last Saturday, as demanded by the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU).

The withdrawal followed heavy clashes with the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) in the disputed and oil-rich area last week.
